Biography

Atypical electro pop band from the French part of Switzerland, Cobalt stood out on the radio and on stage in early 2006 after the release of the first 4 tracks CD. The single “Dive” was then widely broadcasted by Couleur3 and other Swiss radios. Live performances (Amalgame, Fri-Son, Festival Electron at Usine, etc.) went on for more than a year, so the band got rapidly popular on the national scene.

Cobalt releases its first album « Domestic » on the 28th February 2008 on Urbanseed Records (distribution : Disques Office). This first CD is a blossom of electronic sounds, dense, dark, rhythmic, but always subtle and ethereal, thanks to the emotion of a unique voice and to the lyricism of a violin.
The album also contains a special goodie : the music video of the track “where are you” which mirrors perfectly Cobalt’s aesthetic and full of mystery universe.

Let’s not forget to mention the amazing cover designed by the artist Fabian Sbarro (who is also renowned for making Thierry Romanens, Zorg, Unfold’s cover) .

The live performances include a drummer and some mesmerizing technological instruments tailor-made with light or movement captors by one of the band’s members. Digital, organic, dreamlike and powerful : a puzzling electro-pop-experimental mixture.
